So who am I ?

My background is in Physics and Mathematics. Until a couple of years ago I worked primarily in the field of Quantum Physics, researching the origins of noise in optical and electronic systems. I also developed various mathematical routines to extract optical signals buried deep within optical noise.

During my career I also learned electronics to an advanced level, as I had to design bits and pieces to allow me to measure extremely small signals. The last A/D system I designed could measure signals to around 28 bit resolution at a sampling rate of 2KHz.

That's something you can't even buy today, and nor can you find anybody who can design you such a circuit other than myself !

My interest in encryption and secure disk storage came from a project I was working on a few years ago, which needed absolute security from my code being read by industrial competitors. I developed a novel system to store encrypted data. It also had a major advantage that if the PC fell into the wrong hands, the hard disk would automatically render itself completely unreadable should the PC case be opened to extract the hard disk. This was based on a combination of hardware and software design.

I also wrote the BIOS code and developed an operating system from scratch for a custom parallel processor RISC system.

I've got around twenty five years experience in hacking and phreaking. I learned programming in the seventies on mainframes running Unix. This lead me along the road to be able to develop my own hacking and phreaking applications from scratch. I keep up to date with progress.

Anyway, enough of that. I now work as a Linux System Security Administrator for an ISP. What else would a hacker want to do for a living ;)
