This site is dedicated to all hackers and phreakers out there who actually want to learn how to develop their own hardware and software to exploit vulnerabilities in Computer Networks and Telecommunications systems.

If you decide to follow the progress of this web site, I guarantee you will be tearing your hair out from time to time as you learn how to get things working, but you WILL learn how to "roll your own" hacking and phreaking applications ;)

So why would you want to do this when you can download the latest ready to run code from plenty of web sites ?

By understanding how to program your own applications, you will learn how the hack or phreak actually works in great detail. Hopefully you'll go on to develop your own technique, and will be able to learn how to discover and exploit security weaknesses yourself.

We will also be taking a look at programming Windows sockets in detail.

You'll also cause a bit of a panic within the Telco's and Government Security teams as they aren't equipped to deal with the hacker or phreaker that can program their own applications and develop their own hardware ;)

They are used to dealing with the latest canned exploits. If something happens on their network that isn't mentioned in the latest CERT (or other) advisory, they haven't got a clue what to do other than panic, bury their head in the sand and hope the problem goes away !

If you do decide to take up the challenging field of hacking or phreaking, you had better get used to being monitored on a regular basis.

My log files show frequent access from UK Government sites and various security teams from BT and other Telco's, not to mention interests from Government Agencies throughout the world. A special "Hi Folks" is in order to the good old US Navy and Military Security Services. They seem to like my site so much that they visit it on a very regular basis ;)

The good thing for the hacker/phreaker is the info you can get from your log files if you run a web site. For example, this site is regularly visited by a certain Middle East Government, for reasons known to them and also to myself. Taking one of their IP's as a start, I've managed to map the whole of their Governments' internal and Military network down to an individual machine level, including routers, dial up lines and satellite links.

Most of this was done legally via whois queries, DNS requests using nslookup and liberal use of search engines etc. I'll be discussing how to do this in detail under the Mapping Networks section when I eventually write it and get it up online.

The site will also teach you how to secure your own computer network against hack attempts from others, and how to set up decent logging facilites so you can keep an eye on who is watching you ;)

You will also find out how encryption works, and will end up being able to program your own encryption applications. This is ideal for storing sensitive information you wouldn't like others to see should you yourself get an early morning waking call courtesy of our wonderful UK British Police Force ;)

I'll also be taking this one step further and posting algorithms to encrypt and decrypt your filing system on the fly. When I say your own filing system, I mean exactly that. We wont have a FAT16/FAT32 and nor will we have NTFS. You will be developing your own specification as we go along which will result in a brand new undocumented filing system, with strong encryption as standard.

Let's see the NSA get their teeth into that ;)

There are plenty of commercial, shareware and freeware encryption programs out there for you to use, but if you are as paranoid as I am....compile your own. You never know if a commercial program has a back door key ;)

I'll be putting together the basic algorithms in C so you can wrap them into your own applications. All of the algorithms will be based on highly secure encryption techniques, although weaker algorithms such as DES will also be discussed.

You will also find out how easy it is to give yourself a false identity to enable you to evade the authorities (or other, maybe more determined organisations) if things get tough !

This site still has a long way to go before it is complete, so keep an eye on the What's New page to find out what has been updated and when. It saves you having to trawl through the whole web site again to see what has changed.

Anyway, enough of the ramble...here's the disclaimer just in case any of you are daft enough to try out anything discussed in this site and expect me to take the blame for anything you decide to do :)))

Warning: almost everything discussed on this web site is illegal to do in many countries unless you have explicit permission from the owner of any telecoms and computer equipment agreeing to your proposal to hack or phreak their network.

The information presented here is purely to illustrate how the phreaker and hacker operates.

All programs and source code have been developed by myself and have been tested on my own private network and telecommunication equipment.

Encryption laws also vary from country to country.

The author will not be held responsible for actions of others using information presented in this guide for illegal purposes under any jurisdiction.

If in doubt...seek legal advice or don't try it ;)
